Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 may be getting torn apart online due to its campaign and a general desire to see Battlefield 6 win the competition this time around, but fans of its core multiplayer and Zombies mode still have plenty to appreciate. On the multiplayer front, Black Ops 7 launched with a wide variety of quality maps while toning down SBMM and bringing back persistent lobbies, addressing several criticisms of recent entries. On the Zombies front, Ashes of the Damned is packed with Easter eggs and brings back small-scale survival maps for those seeking something a bit simpler, while also making a range of quality-of-life improvements. Cursed mode is a highlight, too, and it’s through this alternate form of play that Black Ops 7’s already-huge camo grind becomes even deeper.
