During the latest Xbox Partner Preview, Eclipse Glow Games gave players a look at gameplay of its highly anticipated PS5 action-adventure game, Tides of Annihilation. The game’s video preview gives players a glimpse of what to expect from its flashy boss fights.

Inspired by Arthurian legend, Tides of Annihilation puts players into the shoes of Gwendolyn, who has the ability to summon and command the legendary Knights of the Roundtable. In the new trailer, we see these abilities in action against Tyronoe, The Ferryman, one of the game’s boss fights. According to Game Producer Kun Fu in an Xbox Wire post, this fight “is an exceptional demonstration of how we combine high-intense action with cinematic-like visual splendor.”

In the same post, Fu gives some insight into the developers’ use of Arthurian lore in Tides of Annihilation.
“With Tides of Annihilation, our dev team wanted to bring an epic and unique game story built on the treasured stories of valor, chivalry, and loyalty of the Arthurian legends. Having this story take place in a unique modern-day setting brings a different yet familiar perspective. We also felt this was a good opportunity to tell new stories on heroes that may not be as-well-known in Arthurian lore; Sir Lamorak and Tyronoe are two good examples of such characters as Gwendolyn uncovers how the fates of both this valorous knight and diabolical witch are intertwined in madness and conflict. “
