Bloodborne 60fps Remaster December Marked on the Calendar

Bloodborne 60fps Remaster December Marked on the Calendar

Bloodborne fans will be hoping for positive news as they mark their calendars for December 2025, a year that celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Bloodborne was released in March 2015 on the PlayStation 4, and, probably much like what Elden Ring did in 2022, it introduced many gamers to the gruelling delights that only famed developer FromSoftware knows how to deliver.

Since the release of the PlayStation 5 in 2020, Bloodborne fans have been hoping to see the title remastered on the current-gen console. Hell, we’ll even take a long-overdue PS5 update at this point.

Where is the Bloodborne Remaster?

Worst still, considering that Sony has ported the likes of God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us Part I, to name a few, on PC, it’s baffling that the immensely popular Bloodborne is not amongst that list.

In fact, it’s one of gaming’s modern mysteries as to why, looking from the outside, Sony Interactive Entertainment seems so reluctant to even update Bloodborne on PS5, let alone port it to PC. Only the Sony overlords will know for sure.

The optimist in me hopes that an official Bloodborne PS5 update, remaster and/or PC port might one day be announced alongside a Bloodborne 2 reveal.

With 2025 being the tenth anniversary of Bloodborne, as well as its expansion, The Old Hunters (that being 24 November), it’s pretty much entering the last-chance saloon for a milestone announcement.

Perhaps the last chance that a major Bloodborne announcement could be made is at The Game Awards 2025. However, nowadays, Sony prefers to announce its major games at its own shows, such as PlayStation Showcase and State of Play. But never say never, as they say.

The best that we can hope for is content delivered by the ever-vibrant modding community, such as this new fan-made remaster that makes Bloodborne look a bit more lush. The caveat, however, is that most mods are PC exclusive.

Will FromSoftware Treat us at The Game Awards?

Nonetheless, that hasn’t stopped some Bloodborne fans from speculating and hoping for the best at The Game Awards.

“Would you rather a Bloodborne remaster or Bloodborne 2, and why?” asked Redditor Rack. “I would rather have a remaster because I want to experience this masterpiece in better graphics and higher framerate.”

“Both or neither. I just want confirmed news,” replied Ok_Friendship816.

“Perhaps at The Game Awards,” suggested Drakemander, to which nunya221 responded with, “So sweet and innocent.”

“Won’t be anything Bloodborne, but there is a good chance FromSoftware reveals a new IP of some sort,” said California-Law, attempting to turn the tide of optimism.

Do I believe that anything FromSoftware-related will be revealed at The Game Awards 2025? Probably not. At most, we might get a new trailer for The Duskbloods and hopefully a confirmed release date.

At the time of writing, The Duskbloods is set to be released sometime in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2.
