Resident Evil Requiem Story Length Revealed

Resident Evil Requiem Story Length Revealed

Resident Evil Requiem’s story campaign length may have leaked, and by the looks of it, post-launch DLC is already in the works.

We’re only a few months away from Resident Evil Requiem, and as an obsessed fan of Capcom’s legendary survival horror series, I couldn’t be more excited. Resident Evil Requiem stars at least one new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa, who we were introduced to in Resident Evil Outbreak.

There have also been reports that iconic character Leon S. Kennedy is set to return in Resident Evil Requiem, but that is unconfirmed speculation at this point. We’ll let you know if those reports come true as we edge closer to the big launch.

There have been tons of rumours surrounding Resident Evil Requiem, and it can be difficult to determine what could be true or false. However, reports of its campaign length appear to be accurate, going by recent games in the series.

How long to beat Resident Evil Requiem?

According to video game industry leaker, Dusk Golem, who has been especially prominent with it comes to Resident Evil Requiem, claimed when responding to a follower on Twitter that the campaign length will be similar to that of to 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake and perhaps longer than 2021’s Resident Evil Village (which is quite a broad estimate).

To compare notes, on a first playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 remake, as long as you’re not rushing through the game on the easiest difficulty and searching for secrets and whatnot, you could easily spend 20 to 60 hours on your first playthrough.

Resident Evil Village, on the other hand, is perhaps a bit shorter, taking anywhere between 15 to 40 hours on your first playthrough under the same conditions. Of course, once we know a Resident Evil game like the back of our hands, speedrunning can often get them done in a few hours or less.

Yet, if you’re like me, you like to not rush any game. Cover every nook and cranny, search for secrets and admire what the talented developers have created, taking in every moment as much as possible. Capcom’s Resident Evil series is no exception.

Furthermore, Dusk Golem has claimed that at least one piece of DLC is in development for Resident Evil Requiem right now.

This should come as no surprise, because most Resident Evil games get some form of DLC nowadays.

Interestingly, the first DLC could be based on Grace’s mother, Alyssa.

There are no details of what that DLC could be, but if it’s story DLC set after the events of Resident Evil Outbreak and leading up to the events of Resident Evil Requiem, that could scratch that Alyssa lore itch that fans have wanted for years.

Of course, all rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. Thankfully, we only have a few months to find out if there’s truth behind these rumours.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on 27 February 2026.
