The DRAM market is under quite the pressure. A shortage caused by very high demand from major players in the field of AI has led to a sharp rise in prices.
A message posted on the Chinese forum Board Channels claims that AMD has contacted its partners to inform them of a second price increase for its GPUs. While the slight adjustment made in October had no impact on consumers, this time around the situation is likely to be different.
Reports indicate that DDR5 module prices have risen 60% since September. As a result, 32GB modules for servers are now priced at $239 instead of the previous $149. GDDR6 has been affected by a 30% increase.
AMD has not yet made a public statement.
