Steam Free Download is a Red Dead Take on Stardew Valley

Farming simulation games may be a beloved genre but with many presenting the same old copy-and-paste format, this brand-new release may just offer something completely unique.

There is no denying that Stardew Valley continues to lead the charge when it comes to farming simulators but with many of its fanbase eagerly anticipating new and exciting content, this new free download may just provide it.

Offering a Red Dead Redemption 2 take to Stardew Valley, Ranchbound is an upcoming city builder simulation title which is free to check out right now.

Set to launch fully in 2026, Ranchbound will task players with growing their ranch, raising cattle, leading cowboys and trading with settlers in real-time economic strategy complete with survival challenges.

Developed by Eldersong Games, a brand-new demo for Ranchbound is now available, giving Steam players the opportunity to try out this exciting new simulation game months ahead of its full launch.

“In Ranchbound you take charge of your own ranch,” the Steam synopsis reads.

“You run a cattle operation, looking after the health and growth of your herd as it expands in size and value.

Hire cowboys and assign their duties: from herding and caretaking to defending against threats.

As your herd grows, so do your options.”

From humble beginnings and beyond

Set in a world bustling with activity featuring towns, traders, natives, and even the military, each has their own requests and needs and it is up to you to fulfil them.

Build your standing in the Wild West by investing in local properties or even take the time to expand your very own homestead.

However, in a land overcome with rivalries from every corner, you will join the fight for land, wealth, and influence with new challenges to face on a daily basis.

In Ranchbound, you will be in charge of growing your herd, hiring cowboys to rear and keep them safe, expanding your ranch by upgrading buildings, turning it from a humble shack to a bustling estate.

You will also need to build economic influence around the town by investing in local business and expanding your reach across the Wild West.

When that is all said and done, you will need to be careful as your actions could improve or hinder your relationships with different factions ranging from the military to the townsfolk and beyond.

“From a humble homestead to a powerhouse – make sure the Wild West hears your name!”

Ranchbound is set to release fully in 2026 but its free demo is now available to download and keep courtesy of Steam.
