Out of nowhere, the Switch and Switch 2 ports of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition are available via the eShop since yesterday, November 18. Unfortunately, the game’s performance on Nintendo’s latest console is disappointing.
A comparison carried out by the YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits shows that the Switch 2 version is inferior in several respects to that of the PS4 released back in 2014. We can see a decrease in the quality of the hair (absence of TressFX technology), vegetation, shadows, and lighting in general.
Where the Switch 2 performs better is in its superior definition and its frame rate, which is locked at a solid 60 frames per second. However, it is clear that the Nintendo’s machine is quite capable of doing better.
