Assassin’s Creed fans can claim free DLC for what could be considered an underrated entry in the Ubisoft series.
Since 2007, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has been one of the most popular franchises in the video game industry. That being said, as much as I love this series, it might be fair to say that it hasn’t quite hit the heights recently that it once did in previous generations.
In 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, set in the Anglo-Saxon period between 872 and 878, during what is considered to be an age of the Vikings, we were introduced to an intriguing NPC and Iraqi native, named Basim ibn Ishaq.
From the get-go, it always felt that there was far more to Basim than he was letting on, and thus, many fans wanted to learn more about this mysterious character. Thankfully, we got that very opportunity with Assassin’s Creed Mirage in 2023.
Originally, Assassin’s Creed Mirage was an expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, before the folks at Ubisoft decided to evolve it into a standalone game.

How do we claim the free Assassin’s Creed Mirage content?
In August this year, in partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it was announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is getting brand new missions and added content, courtesy of an unexpected but welcome free update.
The update in question is ‘Valley of Memory’, which takes Basim to AlUla in the northwest region of Saudi Arabia. Ruthless gangs threaten the peace of the valley, and it’s up to our beloved hero, Basim, to save the day.
Furthermore, the free update not only adds new story missions and locations, but also upgrades the parkour and combat skills of Basim, as well as adding new gear, weapons, challenges and more.
‘Valley of Memory’ will be added to the game via a free update that will download and install the next time you fire up Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Unless it’s already downloaded when your PC or console has been in sleep mode at 2pm today (18 November).
Once you’ve fired up Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the AlUla story arc is available when the mission ‘The Head of the Snake’ is triggered, and then by talking to Dervis in his shop. You can also select the new mission via the main menu to jump straight into the action.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The free ‘Valley of Memory’ update is available to all who own the game.
