Following the Fallout season two trailer this week, we may have finally learned the true ending of New Vegas.
Yesterday, Amazon released the newest trailer for season two of Fallout, which arrives on its Prime Video streaming platform next month. With season one being so well-received by critics and fans alike, buzz for its new season is mounting.
At the end of Fallout season one, we were left with a huge tease that the main protagonist, Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walter Goggins) were about to venture into the iconic location of New Vegas.
2010’s Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most popular entries in Bethesda’s RPG series. For some, it is the absolute pinnacle, even topping the likes of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4. For me at least, Fallout 3 will always be king, and I will die on that hill.
Nonetheless, no matter what your favourite entry of the series is, if you’re a passionate Fallout fan, there’s a good chance that you’re as excited to see a live-action New Vegas as anyone.
I won’t go into everything that was included in this week’s trailer for Fallout season two, because if you’ve not watched it yet, I’ll leave that for you to enjoy. However, what I will speak about is a moment in the trailer that features Mr House, which may suggest that his ending in Fallout: New Vegas is canon.
Beware of Fallout: New Vegas spoilers ahead!
Fallout: New Vegas has multiple endings, perhaps one of the most popular is the aforementioned ‘Mr House ending’. In this ending, Mr House took control of the Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip, banishing both Legion and the New California Republic out of New Vegas, once and for all.
With so many possible endings, there has never been a definitive answer to which one is truly the canon conclusion; yet, the recent trailer may have finally answered that elusive question.
“Judging by the trailer, it looks like Mr House’s ending is now canon,” claimed the Twitter account Fallout Fan Art. Naturally, this sparked much discussion amongst fellow fans of the series.

“The house always wins, baby,” replied Kaiserhawk.
“Let’s just be grateful it wasn’t the Legion ending that was canon after all,” said Joey Wallace.
“It could explain what happened to the kings. They played nice with the NCR, and Mr House made them pay for it,” suggested Alex47964382.
It’s worth keeping in mind that at this time, the Mr House ending isn’t definitive. However, considering that Amazon Studios works closely with Bethesda, this is probably as close to official confirmation as we’re ever going to get right now.
The first of eight Fallout season two episodes will drop on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, and then each new episode will be released weekly.
