A PS3 action RPG series might make a full return on PS5, its publisher has teased. THQ Nordic recently surprised players by bringing back the lesser-known Sacred series in the form of a PS5 remaster, but has since hinted that it has plans for a new game.
PS3 RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel was recently remastered for the PS5
2008’s underrated Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is now available on the PS5. The remaster hasn’t exactly made a splash, but THQ Nordic thinks there’s room for a new game.
In a recent developer video discussing Sacred 2 Remaster, co-creator Franz Stradal said that this is “not the end.”
“It’s just the beginning,” Stradal added. “We have so much more planned for Ancaria’s future, and there are still countless stories waiting to be told.”
Despite the unenthusiastic reception that Sacred 2 Remaster has received, we think there is a chance that THQ Nordic will fully revive Sacred, as the company is no stranger to bringing back quirky titles.
As for Sacred 2 Remaster, many of the complaints are about a lackluster attempt at a remaster rather than criticism of the game itself. THQ Nordic hasn’t hinted at who it might task with developing a new game, if it happens.
