Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC Gets a Release Date

Not even a month after the game’s original release, Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC gets an official release date.

It has become standard practice to expect DLC to launch after a game’s release. However, Pokémon Legends: Z-A saw its DLC announced before the base game was even in players’ hands. Today, The Pokémon Company International officially unveiled that the Mega Dimension DLC will release on December 10, 2025, just in time for the holidays.

Here are the details from Nintendo’s official site: “Mysterious distortions have appeared without warning in Lumiose City. They seem to connect to a space known as Hyperspace Lumiose…and the mythical Pokémon Hoopa might have some part to play. It looks like your story with Team MZ isn’t over yet—continue your journey in Hyperspace Lumiose after completing the main game!”

The site goes on to list more details about the Mega Dimensions DLC, including two Mega Evolutions for Raichu—Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. Players will also be able to customize with Holo-X and Holo-Y apparel.

If this wasn’t enough, just a few weeks after release, the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimensions DLC page also confirms that there will be additional story content released by February 28, 2026, and it looks like it is included in the price for the Mega Dimensions DLC.

The official announcement also revealed a new side mission available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A right now. “Players can claim a Diancite Stone through the Mystery Gift feature in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A base game. This Diancite stone unlocks an opportunity to encounter and catch the Jewel Pokémon Diancie through an extra side mission titled ‘Shine Bright like a Gemstone.’” This quest will eventually lead to a Mega Diancie!

The Mega Dimension DLC digital code is already listed on Amazon US/Nintendo US for $29.99 USD or Amazon Canada/Nintendo Canada for $39.99 CAD. Regardless of the opinion on DLC so close to a game’s original release date, the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC is sure to be a popular purchase this holiday season.
