After the sudden cancellation of the 2025 version, Football Manager needed to make a big splash for its comeback. Unfortunately, the launch seems to have gone awry, and initial feedback is far from glowing.
On Metacritic, the Sports Interactive title has an average rating of 72% from the specialist press. Players have been much harsher, giving it a score of 2.4/10. The same is true on Steam, where the reviews are “mostly negative”, with only 38% of the 247 reviews published being positive.
People are mainly complaining about the numerous bugs in Football Manager 26 and its unintuitive interface.
