PS Plus Users on PS4 Have 1 Month Left to Enjoy the Service

PS Plus users on PS4 are reminded that they have another month left to enjoy the service as they know it. We’re expecting subscription discounts on Black Friday 2025, but those who don’t have a PS5 should keep incoming changes in mind before they avail any offers.

PS4 games will only be offered ‘occasionally’ on PS Plus starting January 2026

As announced by Sony earlier this year, PS4 games will “only be occasionally offered” to PS Plus members starting January 2026. While this might affect PS Plus Extra/Premium users gradually, PS Plus Essential users may be impacted right away.

PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogs are refreshed on a monthly basis, but games tend to stay on the service anywhere between six months to two years. However, Essential games are added and removed on a monthly basis, so starting January, Essential users on PS4 might go through periods of time where they can’t access any of the games offered.

“As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026,” Sony explained. “As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026.”

PS4 users should keep this in mind when renewing their membership and selecting a plan.
