Fortnite players can now drop into Springfield with the new Simpsons crossover event, offering a new Battle Pass, map, and Disney+ shorts.

Epic Games finally dropped a much-awaited collab this past weekend. Fortnite players can now drop into Springfield with the new Simpsons crossover event, offering a new Battle Pass, cel-shaded map, and Disney+ shorts. The new season launched on the evening of Saturday, November 1st. The event will last the whole month of November. There are said to be various surprises as the season goes on.

The 80-player cel-shaded Springfield Island features a fast-paced, back-to-basics Battle Royale experience straight from the minds behind The Simpsons. Giant donuts will descend in Fortnite for the first time, but do not worry, Homer Simpson is in charge. Players can find new Simpsons weapons in Delulu during the season. The “Welcome to Springfield” video perfectly showcased what kind of chaos and gags players can expect from this major crossover.

Down from the usual 100-player limit per match, the Chapter 6 island has been completely revamped for this collab. The whole map is cel-shaded and filled with well-known locations from the show, like Moe’s Tavern, the Qwik-E-Mart, and the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Players will literally feel like they are immersed in Springfield!

As for the Springfield Battle Pass, it includes Outfits as premium rewards, including Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky Fishstick, and Springfielder Peely. Each of the skins has alternate styles too, such as Evil Homer and Witch Marge. It will also feature Fortnite’s first Sidekick: Peels. Peels is the exclusive Sidekick until more arrive in the Shop on November 7. While it is smaller than a normal battle pass, the Simpsons pass still costs 1,000 V-Bucks, and you can also unlock it by subscribing to Fortnite Crew.

So far, there have been three new free items. The Kang and Kodos glider is the new reward for linking players’ Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, replacing the First Order Stormtrooper they were giving away since May. If already connected, players will automatically receive the glider. Another item is a wrap, which was made available as a Twitch drop over the weekend. Unfortunately, the drops have ended, but they can be expected to come to the item shop. Lastly, logging in during the launch weekend will grant players the Fuel Rod and Tongs pickaxe. Additionally, there is the free umbrella glider, the Safety Inspector ‘Brella, which players can earn by winning a round of Battle Royale during The Simpsons season.

Each week of The Simpsons season in Fortnite will add a new short Simpsons episode related to the game’s ongoing storyline, in which Homer finds a piece of the Zero Point and uses it in very irresponsible ways—such as attaching it to his remote control. Further shorts will drop on November 10, November 17, and November 24. Some shorts dropped early and can be viewed on the Fortnite official YouTube channel, but they can also be viewed on Disney+.
