Amazon Games will bear the brunt of a company-wide layoff, as Amazon cuts over 14,000 corporate jobs across the board as part of an effort to ‘reduce bureaucracy’ within the company. Although the exact number of affected Amazon Games staff is currently unknown, the layoffs will hurt its San Diego and Irvine offices, with the latter responsible for the development of New World: Aeternum.

I completely agree; layoffs can be really challenging for everyone involved. It’s interesting to note that despite the cuts, Amazon Games has been working on some promising titles that could still shape the future of their gaming division. Hopefully, they can regroup and continue to innovate moving forward.
