Star Wars: A New Hope headed to IMAX, but which version is a mystery

We learned earlier this year that the original Star Wars film, A New Hope, will be returning to theaters in 2027 to celebrate the franchise’s 50th anniversary. A curiosity about that return, though, is that when it was announced, Disney didn’t confirm which version of A New Hope will be released. Back in August, the studio told Polygon it was “not confirming the format of the film at this time.” However, we do know that whatever’s coming will also be shown in IMAX.
