“Halo is on PlayStation Going Forward,” Confirms Halo Studios Community Director

In case you missed it, Halo is indeed coming to PlayStation 5, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the first game in the series. The keyword is “starting,” however, as Halo Studios and Microsoft confirmed that future titles would be on PlayStation going forward.

As noted by community director Brian Jarrard at the Halo World Championship, “It’s a huge deal. It’s a long time coming. We’re just super excited to be able to welcome even more players now into the franchise we love, to fall in love with Halo the same way we all did 24 years ago.

“As a community guy, I know the Halo community is super excited to welcome in their friends as well. It’s just going to mean more Halo for everyone. It’s really a new era. Halo is on PlayStation going forward, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved.”

Halo: Campaign Evolved is only the first title developed on Unreal Engine 5, with the developer previously confirming multiple titles in the works. One of these is undoubtedly the next mainline title in the franchise, which could explain the lack of competitive multiplayer in the remake, but an official announcement is still forthcoming.

In the meantime, Halo: Campaign Evolved launches in 2026. Check out a playthrough of The Silent Cartographer, the fourth mission in the title, complete with new features like sprint. Of course, not everyone is thrilled about the remake’s changes, including original design lead Jamie Griesemer. Check out his thoughts on why you shouldn’t be able to steamroll the Hunters with a Warthog here.
