Commemorating its decades of pressing records and publishing physical titles, iam8bit announces the iam8bit 20th Anniversary Art Show in Los Angeles.
Returning to its artistic roots after providing many records, CDs, and physical copies of Indie video games since 2005, iam8bit celebrates with the iam8bit 20th Anniversary Art Show, running November 8 – 9 in Los Angeles. During the art exhibitions, iam8bit will explore and celebrate its origin story and ongoing influence on the art and gaming landscape, bringing 70+ beloved artists to the exhibition to showcase gaming from the 1980s and 1990s through their unique art styles.
Founded in 2005 and based in Los Angeles, iam8bit has been redefining the entertainment industry as a creative production, from minting its first record in 2010 to releasing premium physical editions of popular indie games. In addition to releasing physical editions of premium games, the company has funded and published a variety of games under the iam8bit Presents label, including Escape Academy, Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and The Quest for Stale Gum, and Simpler Times.
As the company continues to grow and support physical media, iam8bit has inspired Disney, Nintendo, Capcom, SEGA, and many more with its unique art style as they transitioned from the traditional style guide. Alongside inspiring companies, iam8bit produced and co-produced numerous gaming events, including co-founding the Day of the Devs indie showcase with Double Fine, collaborating with AIAS on Game Maker’s Sketchbook, and hosting the Summer Game Fest: Play Days every June.
From helping ignite the modern pop-culture retro-gaming art movement in 2005 and pushing game-inspired arts and its community to the mainstream with its 2011 “SUPER iam8bit” Art Show, iam8bit is returning to its roots.
