This stylish found-footage film takes a dark, surprising look at possession

A Halloween episode of a late-night talk show gets much scarier than host Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian of The Suicide Squadand Murderbot) intended in the highly stylish 2024 film Late Night with the Devil. Colin and Cameron Cairnes put a clever spin on the found-footage genre, supposedly combining a tape of a fateful 1977 broadcast with backstage recordings shot in black and white. After a brief documentary-style intro that lays out the plot groundwork, they effectively tell the story in real time.
