Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that its fan favorite 2012 PS3 exclusive action RPG is getting a PS5 remaster. Tales of Xillia 2 didnât make its way to the West until 2014, but its PS5 remaster is expected to launch worldwide simultaneously following Tales of Xillia Remastered.

The confirmation of Tales of Xillia 2 remaster comes from none other than series producer Yusuke Tomizawa. In an interview published in the Weekly Famitsu (translation via Gematsu), Tomizawa not only confirmed the existence of the upcoming remaster but revealed that it will be announced ârelatively soon.â
âIâm unfortunately unable to provide specifics about the next title yet, but the timing of the next remastered title announcement should be relatively soon⌠or at least, thatâs the plan,â Tomizawa said. âWeâre following an âannounce and release whatâs ready quicklyâ approach. In that vein, Xillia 2 is still in progress, which is why it hasnât been announced.â
Tomizawa added that the development team will do its best to update fans as soon as possible.
Tales of Xillia Remastered, which was officially announced in August following a leak, will release on all current-gen platforms, including the PS5, on October 31.
