No Manâs Sky is dropping another massive free expansion, and to the surprise of no-one, it looks great.
Considering how far No Manâs Sky has come in the nine years since it launched in 2016, itâs genuinely amazing to see how different it is now compared to then. And with each new update, it gets even better.
It hasnât been long since Hello Games released the big Voyagers update for No Manâs Sky back in August, but it seems as though the developer is already back at it with yet another big free update.
Hello Games is releasing a new update for the game today, titled Breach, and it leans more into the new ship building features and improvements that came with the Voyagers update.
Youâll remember all the amazing creations people started making and sharing on social media after the update dropped, and it appears as though all the features added in Voyagers is about to become even better.
Breach adds explorable space wrecks for your character to find, a feature that Hello Gamesâ Sean Murray says leans âinto that thrill of space-walking, and giving players more excuse to enjoy itâ.
By salvaging these wrecks, youâll be able to find new parts and resources to build your ship with, ultimately enhancing the potential that comes with creating your custom ships.

Murray also states that Hello Games has improved and expanded the ship building features that were introduced in Voyagers, as a response to watching players spend time making their own unique creations.
Breach will also launch an expedition where players traverse a âdesolate and abandoned universe to discover what happened to a mysterious abandoned wreckâ. This new story is described as a âspooky storyâ and is âsuitable for the Halloween seasonâ.
This requires journeying to the edge of space to salvage from the shipâs wreckage, and also âbrings players together to explore the strange and rare purple-star solar systemsâ.
Hello Games has designed the planets in these new solar systems to be more fun to explore, featuring deeper oceans, more varying terrains, and volatile gas giants. But the main intention is to guide you towards the new space wrecks so you can pick up rare ship parts.
Itâs pretty clear that all the content Hello Games wanted to stuff inside Voyagers wasnât quite able to make it for launch, but that the developer also wanted to wait and gauge community interest before adding to it with the Breach update.
No Manâs Sky: Breach is out today as a free update for all versions of the game.

It’s exciting to see No Man’s Sky continuing to evolve with such significant free expansions! The ongoing support really shows the dedication of the developers to keep the game fresh and engaging for players. Looking forward to exploring what this new update has to offer!
