The Call for Creators
The Sandbox has launched the Spooky Season VoxEdit Contest, inviting artists and creators to design Halloween-themed voxel assets. Eligible creations include anything evoking an eerie or supernatural flair—from haunted houses and pumpkin monsters to characters inspired by nighttime folklore.
How to Participate
Participants need to utilize VoxEdit, a tool compatible with both Windows and Mac, to design their original asset, ensuring it’s fully animated. Once completed, the asset should be exported as a GIF and shared on social platforms like X, by tagging @VoxEdit and @TheSandboxGame, and using the hashtag #VoxEditContests. Final submissions must be entered through the prescribed Google Form by the competition closing date on October 26, 2025.
Understanding the Rewards
The rewards for the contest are substantial, aiming to incentivize a wide range of artists:
First Place: 1,000 $SAND + 100 Common Catalysts
Second Place: 900 $SAND + 100 Common Catalysts
Third Place: 700 $SAND + 100 Common Catalysts
Fourth Place: 350 $SAND + 50 Common Catalysts
Fifth to Tenth Places: Each awarded 200 $SAND + 50 Common Catalysts
Eleventh to Fifteenth Places: Each awarded 50 $SAND + 10 Common Catalysts
A participation prize of 10 $SAND is also designated for the first 100 valid entries that fall outside of the top winners.
It’s important to note that KYC verification is mandatory for claiming any $SAND prizes.

Contest Rules and Expectations
To ensure fairness and creativity, submissions must be entirely original and crafted using VoxEdit. Assets drawing on characters from popular franchises like Marvel, Disney, or Sega will not be accepted. Judging will focus on thematic relevance, technical efficiency—requiring assets to have under 5,000 faces, fewer than 175 nodes, and a maximum size of 512 voxels in height—as well as the quality of animation. Additionally, submitted entries may be utilized for promotional activities by The Sandbox platform.
This competition not only provides an opportunity for creative expression within the spooky themes of Halloween but also offers significant exposure and potential rewards in the expanding universe of The Sandbox.
