The Hitman franchise is nearing its big 25th anniversary, and developer IO Interactive is ready to let Agent 47 celebrate in style.
The ongoing game Hitman World of Assassination will be getting a special limited edition, exclusive to PlayStation 5 and only available physically. This Anniversary Box costs $49.99 and comes with a copy of the game, four celebrity DLC targets, a 3D shadowbox, and a lenticular card. The shadowbox is easily the highlight of the package, featuring the iconic assassin front and center. You can purchase the edition at select retailers, via IO’s own website.
Additionally, IO will hold an anniversary livestream on October 21 at 3pm CET, featuring a look back at the franchise’s history. There will apparently be “surprise guests” and you can tune in directly on the Hitman Twitch channel.
If you aren’t keen on the anniversary edition, pretty much the entire franchise is currently on sale right now. For example, the Hitman Collection is currently only $13.54 and includes the first five games in the series. It’s a pretty fantastic deal for a lot of games.
On the other end of things, World of Assassination continues to go strong. The game recently launched on iPhone and iPad, and has reached over 80 million players. The latest Elusive Target mission even added the legendary Bruce Lee to the game, seeing 47 join forces with the renowned martial artist.
You can play the Bruce Lee mission for free from Sep 25 – Nov 20, or purchase the “Bruce Lee Pack” for $4.99 and get permanent access to the mission as well as a handful of other goodies. IO is also releasing an update to fix some of the missions issue after player feedback, including a reduction of the Arcade Mode cooldown timer.
Hitman World of Assassination is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, PC, and iOS.
