Whether it’s video games, accessories, or other PlayStation gear, Sony is always offering some sort of deal for its fans. This time around, it’s for its online gaming service, PlayStation Plus. Specifically, Sony is offering three months of the service’s Premium tier, which gives subscribers access to hundreds of games. However, not everyone can take advantage of this particular deal.
New PS5, PS5 Pro owners get free PS Plus Premium in limited-time offer
For a very limited time, new purchases of PS5 or PS5 Pro consoles come with three months of PS Plus Premium. To be eligible, the console must be purchased and activated between October 10 and October 21. Then, players must claim the free offer by October 25.
Thanks to the recent price hikes, each PS5 console is now $50 more than they were at launch. The PS5 Pro is currently $749, the standard PS5 console is $549.99, and the PS5 Digital Edition is $499.
It should be noted that the Digital Edition console is the newer model that includes a smaller 825GB SSD instead of the previously used 1TB SSD. Leaked last month, there was a lot of criticism surrounding the new version of the PS5 Digital Edition console, as the price stayed the same despite offering a smaller SSD.
PS Plus is split up into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. For $9.99 per month, Essential gives subscribers access to free monthly games, and online play. For $14.99 per month, Extra includes everything from Essential, as well as access to the Games Catalog, which includes tons of PS4 and PS5 games for subscribers to enjoy. Lastly, at $17.99 per month, the Premium membership includes everything in Extra, as well as the Classics Catalog, which includes tons of PS1 and PS2 games, like Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus and Ape Escape. With that in mind, this is a pretty solid deal for any PS5 newcomers.
