In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the time of day is everything. During the daytime, you can freely explore around, but at night, you can battle trainers in the Z-A Royale. The game will warn you when the sun is setting or rising, so you will get a heads-up, and you can always look at the blue or red circle around the minimap in the top left corner to give you an indication of how much of your day or night you have left.
