On X, insider Infinite_leaks claims to have reliable information on the matter. According to him, the remake will feature modern gameplay mechanics, including the ability to sprint. It is expected to be a total remake, similar to those made by Capcom for the Resident Evil franchise.
Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt.
