Hey, do you like free games? Silly question, of course you do– but I’ll do you one better. Do you like free games that are actually good?
Well then, I have some great news for you, because three free games are currently up for grabs on Steam at this very moment… and, according to the reviews from PC players, at least two of them are certified bangers.
I’m going to rank these three in order of their apparent quality, from worst to best, so make sure you scroll down to the bottom if you’re after the one that everyone on Steam is raving about.
Alright, firstly, let’s get the potential stinker out of the way: Toy Tinker Simulator, from developer Turquoise Revival Games and publishers GrabTheGames and WhisperGames.
It’s a simulation trading game that tasks you with repairing disused toys so you can display them in a museum, which, on the surface, sounds innocuous enough.
The issue however is in the execution of said gameplay, as reviewers on Steam state that all you ultimately end up doing is wiggling the mouse around a bunch and repeatedly clicking on stuff instead of building anything, with one reviewer labelling it a “carpal tunnel simulator”.
It’s currently sitting at a “Mixed” score on Steam, with 58% of the 267 reviews being positive, so temper your expectations for this one.
Next up, Rat Quest from developer and publisher ratin time studios (who already get points from me for making me chuckle at their dev name).

This is basically just a tongue-in-cheek basic platforming game, but I think it gets a pass for that as the trailer’s promise of “exciting gameplay” in flaming, Microsoft PowerPoint-style text got a laugh out of me.
Only 12 reviews for this one so far, but all of them have been positive so far. Seems that a solo dev made this one too, so colour me impressed regardless (as I can barely operate RPG Maker, let alone program a game entirely by myself).
And finally, but certainly not least, 100% Orange Juice from developers Orange_Juice and publisher Fruitbat Factory.
I’ll admit, this one passed me by entirely when it dropped back in 2013, but so many people have been raving about it online since it was made free to download on Steam that I’m convinced that I have to give it a try.
100% Orange Juice is a multiplayer board game with some card collection and RPG elements to it, which sounds interesting enough on the surface… but even I can’t explain why it’s got a “Very Positive” review score on Steam, with 93% of its whopping 14,500+ reviews being positive.
Although I did see one review describe it as “anime girl Monopoly”, so maybe the review score is actually justified.
And that’s the whole list, for now! But don’t fret, I’m sure we’ll be back with another one of these free Steam game roundups in less than 48 hours.
