A 2024 PS5 and PS4 action game is being delisted from the PS Store due to a bizarre situation between its publisher and the rating board ESRB. The game in question is Speedollama, which even earned a spot on Sony‘s YouTube channel. The game’s physical copies have been “banned” as well.
Last chance to buy Speedollama on PS5, PS4 before the game is delisted from PS Store
Fresh Brewed Games, which appears to be Speedollama’s physical distributor, shared a small clip of a legal notice sent to it by ESRB without any context. But reading through the text suggests that Speedollama’s ESRB rating may have been faked, resulting in the rating board ordering Fresh Brewed Games to destroy its physical copies.
“Fresh Brewed Games must immediately cease distribution and/or sale of any copies of the game that contain self-applied ESRB rating information,” the notice reads. “Self-applied” suggests that Speedollama may have slapped on a rating itself.
While the distributor has been contacted for the destruction of physical copies, the order will affect digital sales as well. Sony will understandably have to comply and pull Speedollama from its storefront.
A delisting date was not provided.
Speedollama costs $8.99 on the PS Store and is cross-buy. Although ESRB is the European rating board, the allegedly fake rating appears in the U.S. listing as well.
