Even two years after its release, Massive Entertainment continues to update its open-world action-adventure game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The next major update will feature some of the most requested content, and PS5 players won’t have to wait too long to see the new changes for themselves.
What is the new major Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora update?
Ubisoft released a new trailer for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: Third-person update. As made obvious from the title, it will introduce a third-person mode to the game, allowing players to see their Na’vi take on the many threats housed on Pandora. Check out the trailer below to see the new feature in action.
It will also introduce a New Game + mode, giving players another reason to play through Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This mode will increase the game’s difficulty, feature more powerful gear, and introduce a brand-new skill tree.
When the third-person mode was first announced earlier this year, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment, Omar Bouali, expressed his excitement for the new update.
“We’ve always envisioned Avatar Frontiers of Pandora as a living world that evolves with our players,” said Omar Bouali, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment. “This update is a celebration of our community’s passion, and we’re thankful to our players for their support—it means the world to our team.”
The Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora third-person update will launch just before the game’s upcoming expansion, From the Ashes, which will release on December 19. The DLC is inspired by the upcoming James Cameron film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which will hit theaters on the same day.
When Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released for the PS5 in 2023, it received some decent reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 72 across 84 critic reviews.
